US: 3Q new vehicle sales: increased for the first time in three quarters

Motor intelligence announcement: (October 2)
New vehicle sales in the US in the third quarter (July to September) increased by 0.5% year-on-year to 4,181,211 units.
Since the fourth quarter of 2018 (October to December), it was the first year-on-year increase in three quarters.
By manufacturer: Sales volume (see Table 2)
The result was a mix of good and bad conditions.
General Motors (GM):
It increased by 6.0% year-on-year and increased for the first time in 5 terms. In addition to large pickup trucks such as “Silverado” and “Sierra”, the medium-size CUV “Blazer” and other products performed well.
Toyota: down 1.2% year-on-year, down for 6 consecutive quarters
The small trucks such as medium-sized SUV “4Runner” and minivan “Siena” also fell.
Ford: down 5.1%
Popular models such as the medium-sized SUV “Explorer” and the pickup truck “F Series” were depressed.
Nissan: 4.8% decrease
In addition to the small passenger cars “Centra” and “Versa”, the large pickup truck “Titan” decreased.
Volkswagen (VW): 1.2% decrease
The medium-sized passenger car “Passat” and the Audi brand small passenger car “A3” fell.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA): 0.1% increase
Jeep brand popular models declined, but ram brand pickup trucks pushed up.
Honda: 2.4% increase
Both small trucks and passenger cars grew. In addition to the CUV “Passport”, passenger cars such as the “Civic” performed well.
Subaru: 2.9% increase
Medium-sized CUV “Acent” performed well.
Hyundai: 6.8% increase
The mid-size CUV “Parisade” released in the previous fiscal year performed well.
Kia: 0.2% increase
Sales of medium-sized SUV “Telluride” increased.
