Japanese carmakers, Toyota, Nissan and Mazda, also fell.
The industry association expects sales for 20 years to be 16.8 million units for the second consecutive year.

China Automotive Industry Association:
January 13 announced the new car sales figures for 2019.
Sales decreased by 8.2% to 25,769,000 units.
The US-China trade dispute has caused the market to remain stagnant and sales have been negative for the second consecutive year.
Under these circumstances, Toyota increased its record to 1,620,700 units, up 9.0% from the previous year.
It exceeded the annual sales volume in Japan for the first time.
