India: August car sales: plus for both passenger cars and motorcycles

On September 11th, the car statistics for August were released.
Passenger car sales: [including multipurpose vehicles (UV) and vans]
It increased by 14.2% from the previous year to 215,916 units, the first positive growth in 10 months.
General passenger cars: 124,715 units, up 14.1% year-on-year,
Van: 9,359 units, up 3.8% year-on-year,
UV: 81,842 units, up 15.5% from the previous year
It continued to maintain double-digit growth.
By major manufacturer: (See Appendix Table 2)
Leading position: Maruti Suzuki grew 21.3% year-on-year to 113,033 units.
2nd place: Hyundai Motor increased 19.9% year-on-year to 45,809 units,
3rd place: Mahindra increased 1.1% year-on-year to 13,651 units.
Both recovered to positive growth.
Kia Motors:
It increased by 74.1%, showing the highest growth rate.
6 companies including Honda and Toyota:
Although the decline is still continuing, the sales of each company are also showing signs of picking up.
As a result, in August, half of the 12 major manufacturers, 6 companies, posted positive growth.

Suzuki’s “Alto” “Espresso” “Vitara Brezza”,
Modern “venue” “creta”,
Kia’s “Seltos”,
Renault’s “Triver”
The increase in sales was remarkable.
