On May 1, a high-class Japanese restaurant opens in Hong Kong’s Hong Kong Commercial Complex “Harbor City”.

The store in Hong Kong mainly serves Kaiseki cuisine and Seikyo pickles.

Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong tend to increase after 2010.

The number of Japanese restaurants increased by 50 from the previous year, to 1,360 in 2018, up 3.8% from the previous year.

Next to Chinese restaurant (27.5%)

2nd place: Japanese restaurant (7.7%)

Third place: Thai Restaurant (2.1%)

4th: Italian Restaurant (1.5%)

Hong Kong has been the largest export destination for Japanese agriculture, forestry and fish products and food for 14 consecutive years since 2005, and the Japanese food boom in Hong Kong is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
