Three-dimensional projection technology for projecting pictures on moving objects” has been developed.

Focus on the projection target with the “liquid lens that can move the focal length“.

Use Case:

Moving object: Projecting a picture from a moving object such as a car to a specific place,

Product factory: Support by projecting procedure manuals directly on assembly parts,

Suggest applications such as.

Projection Technology: Outline of Procedure

High-speed vision: The target to be projected is measured, and a picture is projected with a high-speed projector.
Mirror: Moves the projection direction and follows the object up, down, left, and right.
Liquid lens: Follows by changing the depth direction (focal length).

The response speed of this liquid lens is 2.5 milliseconds.

In the mechanical type, the focal length adjustment takes about 0.1 seconds, so that it is difficult to follow a moving object.

This prototype system:

Depth direction: The focal point can be moved within a range of 0.5-2.5 meters.

If the optical system is designed, it will be possible to follow within a range of 5 to 50 meters.

Plan for the future:

Directing to the actors on the stage, changing the costume pattern,

Projecting procedures onto assembly work parts, supporting

Installed in cars and robots, while moving, alert display in front of the pedestrian’s gaze,

Watch projection AR (augmented reality) by multiple people.

We aim to put it to practical use in about two years.
