Japan robot: Karakuri puppet show in Russia: Masterpiece “Yumihiki Doji”
Ninth generation: Shobei Tamaya
Tamaya Shobei (65) is the ninth-generation Karakuri puppeteer.
He has a studio in Kita-ku, Nagoya.
On January 31st, in Moscow, a “Presentation of Karakuri dolls repaired / produced ” was held.
Dozens of Russians gathered to admire the wonderful movement of the dolls, which made use of precision techniques.

“Yumihiki Doji”:
“Yumihibiki Doji,” which is said to be the masterpiece of a Karakuri doll from the Edo period, where Doji pulls arrows and shoots at the target
“Tea doll”:
When you put a bowl on a tray held in both hands, it is a representative work such as a “tea-carrying doll” that moves forward to the customer.
