Japan robots: “Disaster-resistant robots” compete: WRS2020

Japan robots: “Disaster-resistant robots” compete: WRS2020

-“WRS” opening-

The “World Robot Summit (WRS) 2020” Fukushima Tournament began on the 8th.

Engineers from around the world compete for robot utilization techniques under the themes of infrastructure maintenance and disaster response.

Disaster prevention / disaster robot:

Not only in peacetime
Can be used even in the event of a disaster,
Find out the direction of robot development.
It is a tournament that supports the disaster prevention and disaster robot business.

3 types of competitions available:

WRS has designed three types of competitions.

Plant disaster prevention competition,
Tunnel accident disaster response / recovery competition,
Disaster Response Standard Performance Evaluation (STM) Competition,
The above three.

Plant disaster:

The plant in the Fukushima Robot Test Field has been reproduced during normal times and during disasters.

Daily inspection work:

Read the pressure gauge meter with the robot.

Adjust the valve and look for equipment abnormalities.

Response in the event of a disaster:

Assuming an explosion accident, search for one missing worker.

STM competition:

In the STM competition, the standard performance of the robot is tested.

Movement ability and sensing ability,

Information gathering ability,
Wireless communication capability,
Remote control performance,
On-site deployment capability,

Evaluate durability and individual performance.
