Kyoto Univ: Knee cartilage regeneration with iPS cells: Clinical research approval

This is the seventh study plan to use iPS cells for transplantation into an actual patient.

This is a clinical study planned by Kyoto University iPS Cell Research Institute / Tsumaki Professor group.

The cartilage produced from iPS cells is transplanted to four patients whose cartilage of the knee joint has been damaged in sports or accidents.

The safety was confirmed over a year, and the effectiveness was also investigated.
