Shimadzu: Launches “RoHS-EDX automation system” in China: Robot for analyzing harmful elements

Shimadzu: RoHS regulations

In collaboration with local startup Shanghai Hui Statue, we have realized “continuous analysis of up to 540 samples by robot”.

Shimadzu Corporation has released the “EDX Automation System” for the analysis of harmful elements in the RoHS Directive * 1 in China.

“EDX Automation System”:

This product is a fully automated inspection system using our EDX (energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analyzer).

Co-developed with robotic startup company Shanghai Huijing Information Technology Co., Ltd.

Sold throughout China:

It will be exhibited at BCEIA2019, one of China’s largest analytical instrument exhibitions (Beijing, October 23-26, 2019), and will be sold in earnest throughout China.

X-ray fluorescence analyzer:

5 elements and 6 substances regulated by the RoHS Directive,
4 elements and 4 substances regulated by the End-of-Life Vehicle Directive (ELV Directive)
Suitable for quick measurement .

In recent years, elemental analysis work using EDX has been increasing in electrical and electronic manufacturers and contract analysis laboratories.

Manual work such as sample replacement has become a bottleneck, and rising labor costs have increased the need for labor saving.

“EDX Automation System”: Components

Handling robot
control unit,
Air compressor,
It consists of dedicated software.

“2 units”, which can analyze up to 270 samples of 2 EDX units in an average of 8 hours,
“Four units” that can analyze up to 540 samples in 10 hours on average with four units
There are two types

* 2. Target model

“EDX-7000”,
“EDX-8000”,
“EDX-8100”,
“EDX-LE”,
“EDX-LE Plus” (for overseas use only),
There are six EDX-GP models .
