Mexico (INEGI): January 2019 Automobile sales – Increase compared to the same month of the previous year

National statistical geographical information institute (INEGI) announced on 8th February

January 2019 Vehicle sales (excluding large bus trucks):

increased by 1.8% from the same month of the previous year to 111,212 units, which turned upward for the first time in 20 months.

Although slightly improved in January 2019, when accumulated over the past 12 months, it remains at the level of 1､424,000 units.

January 2019 Units sold:

１st place: Nissan slumped 11.8% compared with the same month last year,

2nd place: GM made 2.1 times more breakthrough, supporting the whole

3rd place: VW is slumping down 9.7%.

Japanese companies:

Toyota decreased by 3.3%

Honda fell 17.1%

Mazda increased by 8.3% (model change of “Mazda 3” was successful),

Suzuki increased by 25.3%

Mitsubishi Motors increased by 11.9%
