According to the “Survey on the Number of Japanese Restaurant in Thailand in 2018” released by JETRO on 13th September, the number of Japanese restaurant stores in Thailand increased to 230 stores from the previous year (2,774 stores).
Looking at the breakdown, the number of newly opened stores was 891, while the number of stores closed was 661.
“Sushi (sushi)” was 454, increasing by 201 stores from the previous year (253 stores).
749 Japanese restaurants (including restaurants, general Japanese cuisine, set meals etc.), an increase of 27 stores from the previous year (722 stores).
246 shops in Izakaya, down from 44 stores since the previous year (290 shops).
