It connects Japan’s Shinkansen system between Mumbai, Maharashtra (MH) and Ahmedabad, Gujarat (GJ).
39% said that land acquisition for the project is complete.
Land acquisition: Schedule
Land acquisition will be almost completed by 2019 (“Mint”, June 23rd, etc.)
Overall project: 1,380 hectares for planned acquisition
GJ State: 471 hectares of land acquisition completed out of 940 hectares
State of MH: Land acquisition of 66 hectares completed out of 431 hectares
The completion rate in GJ is about 50%, but the completion rate in MH is about 15%.
“The main acquisition of land will be completed by December of this year.”
The project is scheduled to open in 2023.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister Shinzo participated in the groundbreaking ceremony held in Ahmedabad in September 2017.
