MODEC: Petrobras “BSOzios 5 FPSO” Received orders: Santos (Santos) Búzios Block

Mitsui Ocean Development Co., Ltd .:

Received a written statement from the Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Brazil: National Oil Company) of an FPSO 1 construction and charter contract order.

Petrobras: “Búzios 5 FPSO”

Used in the development project of Petrobras Búzios (Buzios).

The Búzios Block is located in the Santos Basin, approximately 180 km off Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is part of a submarine oil field located in the presalt layer (a layer just below the salt layer) about 5,000 m below the seabed.

Daily production capacity of 150,000 barrels of crude oil,
212 million cubic feet of gas production capacity,
Water injection capacity of 240,000 barrels daily
It has a crude oil storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels.

Our US subsidiary: SOFEC

SOFEC designs and builds a mooring facility called Spread Mooring (multipoint mooring).

Mitsui Ocean Development Co., Ltd. undertakes the collective work from the design of the FPSO to the purchase of equipment, construction and installation.

It is moored to the sea about 1,900 m deep.

This FPSO will be the 15th floating facility that we design and build as an offshore oil and gas development project in Brazil.

It is also called “Búzios 5 FPSO” in the petroleum industry, as it is the fifth FPSO used in the development project of the Búzios Block.
