Mpox (monkeypox) in 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China
On August 9, it was announced that the number of new infections in July was 491.
This is a sharp increase from the 106 new infections in June.

Guangdong 115 cases,
81 cases in Beijing,
Sichuan 49 cases,
Zhejiang 40 cases,
Hunan 33 cases,
Jiangsu Province 31 cases,
25 cases in Shanghai,
Anhui province 19 cases,
17 cases in Tianjin,
17 cases in Hubei Province,
14 cases in Henan Province,
12 cases in Liaoning Province,
12 cases in Shandong Province,
Jilin 9 cases,
The CDC reported no severe cases or deaths.
Epidemiological study results:
The increase in July shows the following characteristics.
All cases are male.
96.3% of infections were through same-sex intercourse.
The risk of transmission through other routes of contact is low.
It is believed that there is no infection by close contact other than homosexual acts.
89.2% of the cases were discovered by the infected person’s self-directed medical examination.
6.5% were found during screening of close contacts.
