In the Arctic Ocean, we will lay an optical fiber submarine cable that connects Europe and Asia.On July 17, the two companies signed a contract to conduct a joint marine survey.
The survey will be conducted over three months starting August 5.

Phase 1 survey
From August, a preliminary survey will be conducted to determine the topography of the seabed and a safe laying route.
Second survey
Conduct technical condition surveys for cable laying, such as surveys of rocks on the sea floor.
The estimated investment for laying optical fiber cables is 800 to 1.2 billion dollars.

is commencing the first stage of offshore surveys as part of the Arctic Connect project aimed at building a trans-Arctic subsea telecommunications link that will connect Europe and Asia.
MegaFon and Cinia,
a Finnish infrastructure operator, signed a memorandum on establishing an international consortium to build the first-ever trans-Arctic telecommunications link in June 2019.
