KDDI: Live watching professional baseball at any angle – World first, real time delivery of free viewpoint video with “5 G” successful
We built a 5 G area in the audience seat of the Okinawa Cellular Stadium and installed 16 cameras pointing towards the batter box to shoot free viewpoint images.
We used 16 cameras to capture images of batters from multiple directions at the same timing.
We have succeeded in processing this into a free viewpoint image from an arbitrary angle and distributing it to multiple 5G tablets in real time.
