JAXA: Distribution of “Shikino” test data to fishery information service center
“Shikisai” can be observed with high resolution compared to the Earth observation satellite that has been used in the past fishery field.
Simultaneous observation of ocean color and water temperature (multiple remote sensing) is expected to be applied to both fishery utilization and fishery research.
Because it can grasp the sea surface temperature near the fishing ground in more detail, it leads to the search and advance of the fishing ground.
In addition, by improving monitoring accuracy of coastal environments, it can contribute to the monitoring of seaweed bed tidal flats, red tide occurrence and resource management of coastal fisheries.
