1. Crude Oil Trends

In May, the import amount of crude oil was 14.69 million kl, which was 107.1% compared to the same month of the previous year, exceeding the previous year.

Looking in descending order of import volume,

(1) Saudi Arabia (5.6 million kl, 101.0% compared to the same month of the previous year)

(2) United Arab Emirates (3.4 million kl, 99.4% same)

(3) Qatar (1.36 million kl, 146.9% same)

(4) Iran (1.04 million kl, 131.5% same)

(5) Kuwait (1 million kl, 91.1% same).

Incidentally, this month’s dependence on the Middle East was 89.9%, up 6.6 points from the same month last year, exceeding the previous year for 10 consecutive months.

2. Production of fuel oil

Production of fuel oil was 12.98 million kl, which was lower than the previous year for the sixth consecutive month, 97.0% of the same month the year before. Looking at oil type, B · C heavy oil exceeded the same month of the previous year, gasoline, naphtha, jet fuel oil, kerosene, light oil and A heavy oil fell below the same month of the previous year.

3. Import and export of fuel oil

Imports of fuel oil amounted to 3,050,000 kl, an increase of 105.9% from the same month of the previous year, exceeding the previous year. Exports were 2,530,000 kl, 101.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, the previous year exceeded the previous year for the second consecutive month.

4. Domestic sales of fuel oil

Domestic sales of fuel oil fell to 13.55 million kl, 98.5% of the same month the year before, the third consecutive month below the previous year. As for oil type, jet fuel oil exceeded the same month of the previous year, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, light oil, A heavy oil and B · C heavy oil fell below the same month of the previous year.

5. Stock of fuel oil

Inventory of fuel oil was 9.37 million kl, 98.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, down for the second consecutive month from the previous year. In terms of oil type, naphtha, kerosene and light oil exceeded the same month of the previous year, but gasoline, jet fuel oil, A heavy oil and B · C heavy oil fell below the same month of the previous year.
