Japan Gets Record 15.9 Million Visitors in Jan.-June
Tokyo, July 18 (Jiji Press)–The estimated number of visitors to Japan in January-June rose 15.6 pct year on year to 15,898,900, hitting a record high for the sixth consecutive year, the Japan National Tourism Organization said Wednesday.
The year-to-date total surpassed 15 million at a record pace, one month earlier than last year, as visitors from other East Asian countries increased due to expanded budget-airline services.
