US merchant vessel association (PMSA): USA LA, import cargo continues to increase – 2018 4Q container handled volume

Quarterly (October to December) container handling volume of port in Los Angeles (LA) area 2018

4,757,033 TEU (20 ft Container equivalent unit) increased by 7.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Port of Los Angeles (Port of LA)

An increase of 9.6%, 2,688,143 TEU,

Long Beach Port (Port of LB)

It increased by 4.6% to 2,068,890 TEU.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

In the fourth quarter of 2018, the volume of cargo handled increased by 1.9% to 639,955 tons (see figure)

At the port of Los Angeles,

From July 2018 to December 2018, the cargo handling volume exceeds 800,000 TEU every month, and the cargo volume peak is sustained.
