Texas, USA: Hydrogen Infrastructure Demonstration Project: H2 @ Scale Project

On September 15th, it announced that it would participate in the H2 @ Scale Project in Texas, which was led by the US Department of Energy.

Collaborate with and jointly promote the demonstration project.

Demonstration project:

It will start on July 1, 2020 and is scheduled for 3 years.

The project partner will contribute $ 5.4 million, half of the total business of $ 10.8 million.

Two projects:

It is roughly divided into two types.

University of Texas at Austin
Conduct an integrated project for the production, supply, storage and utilization of hydrogen on a commercial basis.

Project partner
Manufactures CO2-free hydrogen using electric power.
Demonstrate hydrogen production by reforming methane gas at a waste disposal site in Texas.

Stored hydrogen:
Powers the University of Texas Computing Center. It is used for fuel cells and hydrogen stations for Toyota’s fuel cell vehicle MIRAI.

Port of Houston:

The project team

Existing pipelines that supply hydrogen to refineries,
Evaluate the supply infrastructure.
