Japan’s spot LNG price rises in October
The price of spot liquefied natural gas contracted during the month of October rose according to the data by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
The contract-based price reached $10.7 per mmBtu, up slightly from $10.6 per mmBtu in the previous month.
However, there was a 30.5 percent increase compared to the $8.2 per mmBtu reported in the corresponding month last year.
Data shows that the arrival-based price also rose, from $10.1 per mmBtu in September to $10.6 per mmBtu, showing a 5 percent rise.
Compared to October 2017, when the price of LNG arriving in Japan was at $6.1 per mmBtu, this represents a 73.8 percent jump.
