Utilizing the outcome of the NEDO project, NEC has developed a semiconductor chip “NanoBridge-FPGA (NB-FPGA)” with high radiation tolerance.

We will carry out a demonstration experiment on the reliability of motion in outer space.

On January 18, 2019, JAXA launched epsilon rocket No. 4.

NanoBridge-FPGA (NB-FPGA):

The NB-FPGA is installed in the demonstration satellite No. 1 (RAPIS-1). .

Accumulation and evaluation of basic data such as error rate measurement in a small space environment (radiation is very strong).

Furthermore, it verifies whether the function of NB-FPGA works properly through operation such as compression of image data.

Based on this demonstration result, we will promote commercialization of NB-FPGA.

We will develop in the field of satellite equipment, automobiles and medical fields, and aim for sophistication and energy conservation of IoT equipment.
