Shimadzu : World’s 1st High-Brightness Blue Semiconductor Laser Machine – :Aerospace,EV

In the NEDO project, Osaka University, Yamazaki Mazak, Shimadzu Corp. developed the hybrid processing machine equipped with a high brightness blue semiconductor laser for the first time in the world.

With this hybrid processing machine, high efficiency and high quality welding and lamination are possible for hard-to-process material such as pure copper which was difficult to process with conventional near-infrared laser loaded multi-axis processing machine.

This makes it possible to join different materials such as pure copper and other metallic materials, and it can be expected to be used for processing high heat dissipation members required for industries such as aerospace and electric vehicles.
