Weather routing for knowing the optimum route in terms of fuel consumption and required time can be realized according to the weather and oceanic conditions on the route if we can grasp the vessel performance accurately, such as the speed of the ship and the fuel consumption which fluctuate depending on the weather and the sea state I will.
For example, it is possible to know in advance the route and the like that improves fuel efficiency by avoiding waves and winds even if it makes a detour from the shortest route (Fig. 1).
In May 2016, Fujitsu Laboratories collaborated with the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology to develop highly accurate estimation technology on vessel performance.
