Toyota Releases Safety System to Curb Unintended Acceleration
Tokyo, Dec. 5 (Jiji Press)–Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> released on Wednesday a safety system that can be installed in a vehicle to help prevent drivers from mistakenly using the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
The move is part of the automaker’s efforts to help reduce the number of accidents stemming from unintended sudden acceleration, which are frequently linked to elderly drivers.
