Obayashi has established technologies related to the construction of offshore wind turbines in two forms: flooring and floating.

Offshore wind power generation:

In April 2019, the renewable energy sea area use law (* 1) was enforced.

There are a number of offshore wind power plant maintenance plans around the country.

Implantation / floating: 2 methods

The structure of the windmill is divided into a floor type and a floating type.

The flooring type is relatively shallow,
The floating type is suitable when the water depth is deep.
Obayashi Corporation has developed construction technology for offshore wind turbines suitable for each type.

Implanting type:

A full-scale “skirt suction (* 2)” was actually installed and removed offshore.

The suitability as an offshore wind turbine foundation was demonstrated.

Floating type:

Developed “Tension Leg Platform Type: Floating Offshore Wind Power Plant”.

At this facility, concrete floats are moored in tension on the seabed.

Obtained basic design approval from Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (Class NK).
