Dai Nippon Printing (: DNP) has developed a “transparent antenna film” compatible with the 5th generation communication standard (5G).

This product is made by forming invisible metal wiring on a transparent film in the form of an ultra-fine mesh.

It features excellent transparency and can be installed on a transparent surface material of 5G compatible products.

It can be installed on mobile devices and windowpanes where there is not enough room for the antenna.

In addition, visibility is not impaired.

[Development Background]

For 5G data communication, radio waves in the millimeter wave band (wavelength 1 to 10 mm, frequency 30 to 300 GHz) are used.

Millimeter waves had a problem compared to microwaves that they were more susceptible to nearby products and had less flexibility in antenna installation locations.

In addition, there was a need to increase the number of antennas installed in millimeter waves in order to secure a communication environment because radio waves are highly linear.
