8 Japanese Automakers’ Domestic Output Drops in April-Sept.

Tokyo, Oct. 29 (Jiji Press)–Domestic production by eight major Japanese automakers in April-September fell 1.0 pct from a year earlier to 4,385,009 units, data from the companies showed Monday.

The decline reflected sluggish sales in the United States and temporary suspension of plants due to natural disasters, including a massive earthquake in Hokkaido in September, despite positive effects of new model launches.
