Marubeni Participates in the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project

Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) hereby

announces that, as part of the Northwest
Rapid Transit Consortium (hereinafter, “NRT”) in which Marubeni retains a 20% interest, financial
close on the next stage of Sydney Metro has been achieved as of December 4, 2019

The Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project

is the next stage of Sydney Metro, Australia’s biggest public transport project in history, and will be an extension of the new Metro North West Line, thefirst stage of Sydney Metro which opened on May 26, 2019.

The new section will open by 2024and extend the rail line from Chatswood in the North of Sydney to Bankstown in Sydney’s SouthWest via the Sydney central business district.

The contract to deliver the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project

includes an additional 23 fully automated metro trains, platform screen doors and operations and maintenance for the combined 66 kilometers of metro system consisting of Metro North West Line and Sydney Metro City &
Southwest – from Tallawong Station to Bankstown Station until 2034.

Sydney Metro will have the capacity to operate 30 trains per hour each way through the Sydney central business district – or one train every two minutes in each direction.
