China (CAAM): NEV July sales : Decreased for the first time in 2 years and 6 months

On August 12th, the production and sales situation of July was announced.
New energy vehicle NEV: (See Figure 1)
Production volume: 84,000 units, down 6.9% from the same month last year,
Sales volume: 80,000 units, down 4.7% year-on-year
The growth rate has slowed down significantly since June (production volume increased by 56.3%, sales volume increased by 80.0%).
This is the first decrease in unit sales in 2 months and 6 months since January 2017.
EV:
Production volume: 65,000 units, down 4.8%
Sales volume: 61,000 units, up 1.6%
PHV:
Production volume: 20,000 units, down 13.2%
Unit sales: 19,000 units, down 20.6%
Factors of sales slowdown:
NEV purchase subsidy reduction (see article on April 5, 2019) The grace period ended on June 26.

July production: 1.8 million units, down 11.9% year-on-year
July sales: 1.88,000 units, down 4.3% year-on-year.
Unit sales were below the same month last year for 13 consecutive months.
Car type:
SUVs increased year on year, but sedan, MPV and crossover all decreased.
January to July total: whole car
Production volume: 1,393 million units, down 13.5% from the previous year,
Unit sales: 14.132,000 units, down 11.4% from the previous year
