Mitsubishi Heavy Industries: “Oe Clock Tower / Aerial History Room”

On January 31, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries opened the Oe Clock Tower / Aerial History Office in Minato-ku, Nagoya.

From the Taisho era to the 1950’s, aviation technologies and fighters designed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are exhibited.

On January 30, the inside was open to the press.

Mr. Jiro Horikoshi, the creator of Zero Fighter, also worked at this factory and engaged in development.

Exhibition of fighters: Zero Fighter, Shusui

In the archives room, more than 200 items, including fighter models and panels, are on display.

Zero-type fighter jet (Zero fighter):  used in World War II,
Rocket fighter (Shusui); Japan’s first fighter equipped with a rocket engine
A full-scale restoration machine is on display.

The museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and requires a reservation only.
