Russian private sector: Communications giant MTS
June 5, announced that China Huawei has agreed to start 5G testing in Russia from 2019 to 2020.

Adopting Huawei equipment for MTS infrastructure
Introduction of 5G and IoT technology,
Supports commercial LTE at 5G level,
Agreement to conduct 5G tests assuming various usage conditions.
Implementation details: Details
a. Consultation on effective use of frequency band spectrum (information signal),
b. Start of high speed LTE gigabyte area,
c. LTE deployment very small,
d. Start of 5G fixed wireless network,
e. 5G launch in MTS commercial network,
f. Cooperation on business development using 5G,
g. Joint creation of network segments including spectrum distribution,
h. Implement IoT solution in industry, smart city, housing public service, agriculture,
i. 5G usage scenario (smart city, smart production, automatic transportation) realization,
j. 5G tests conducted on complex infrastructure facilities such as high-speed railways, subways and high-rise houses.
The agreement was signed at the China-Roh Summit in Moscow on the same day.

The EU also has a series of consensus on implementing 5G testing in Russia.
MTS: Sweden’s leading Ericsson
On June 6, a major telecommunications equipment company in Sweden signed an agreement on the development of a 5G solution in the smart city field at “Innopolis”, a special area in the suburbs of Kazan city in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Ross Telecom “Tele 2”: Sweden’s leading Ericsson
On the same day, Ericsson signed an agreement on the implementation of 5G testing operations in Moscow using Ericsson devices in the 27 GHz frequency band.
Ross Telecom ‘Tele 2’: Nokia in Finland
Nokia also signed a memorandum of understanding on the creation of test zones in the 26.5-29.5 GHz and 3.3-3.8 GHz bands in cities in Moscow and Russia.
