On October 7, it announced that it had “signed a license agreement for a mobile technology patent” with German automobile manufacturer Daimler.
Sharp won a patent-related proceeding against Daimler last month.
Nokia has also won Daimler in a lawsuit seeking a license.
Daimler:
“There was a possibility that we could be forced to suspend the sale of cars in Germany.”
Daimler has signed a “license agreement for essential patents for Sharp’s high-speed mobile communication standards (wireless communication-related standards including LTE)”.
Munich Court:
On September 10, he admitted that “Daimler was using Sharp’s technology without permission.”
The collateral for the execution of the judgment was decided to be 5.5 million euros (about 690 million yen).
