South Korea: Imposing a surcharge on French GTT: By granting a technology license
Korea Fair Trade Commission:
A surcharge was levied on GTT in France.

We have exclusive technology for “membrane type” liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo.
The technology license is provided to South Korea.
Imposing corrective orders and surcharges:
The Korea Fair Trade Commission announced on November 25th.
It has been decided that “GTT will impose a correction order and a surcharge of 12,528 million won (about 1.2 billion yen) on the Korean LNG shipping company.”

Domestic production in Korea is impossible:
GTT will receive “10 billion won royalty per LNG vessel”.
So far, there have been complaints among Korean shipbuilding companies.
GTT argues:
GTT announced its official position on the day of the decision of the Fair Trade Commission.
The LNG cargo hold technology license and engineering services claimed that “quality can only be maintained if they are provided in an integrated manner.”
