Kawasaki Heavy Industries: World’s first sea transportation of liquefied hydrogen: Suiso Frontia
-A carrier arrives in Kobe-
Liquefied hydrogen carrier
Suiso Frontia
On February 25, I returned to Kobe Port for the first time in about two months.
A Japanese carrier that transports liquefied hydrogen by sea has returned to Kobe with hydrogen.
It was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and operated by a corporate alliance such as J-Power.
Liquid hydrogen on board:
Massive reserves in Australia,
From low quality coal called lignite
It was only extracted and liquefied using Japanese technology.
It is the first time in the world to transport liquefied hydrogen by sea.
This demonstration experiment:
If it is put into practical use, it is expected that decarbonization of Japan will progress.
