KHI: Liquefied hydrogen ship’Suiso Frontier’: Open to the public

-Expectations for decarbonized energy-

Kawasaki Heavy Industries:

The interior of the world’s first liquefied hydrogen carrier has been opened to the public.

This year, we plan to start a demonstration experiment to carry hydrogen from Australia.

Ultra-low temperature hydrogen carrier:

“Suiso Frontier” was released.

Gaseous hydrogen is cooled to minus 253 degrees Celsius, liquefied, and transported at ultra-low temperature.

By liquefying hydrogen, we aim to significantly reduce the volume and transport it efficiently.

Hydrogen is expected to be used as a new energy source that does not emit carbon dioxide.

Demonstration experiment:

The plan is to carry “hydrogen made from cheap raw materials in Australia” to Kobe City.

The aim is to reduce the cost of hydrogen power generation by lowering raw material prices and carrying out mass transportation.
