Japan 5G: DoCoMo, sub6.5G communication to 4.2Gbps: Carrier aggregation

-Speed up to “millimeter wave” level-

NTT DoCoMo:

US Qualcomm Technologies:

On December 7, we started a service that utilizes carrier aggregation (CA) technology.

Speed up 5G communication of “sub6” using frequencies below 6GHz band to a maximum of 4.2Gbps when receiving

Carrier Aggregation:

Carrier aggregation is a technology that enables data communication using multiple frequency bands at the same time.

With 5G communication of manuscript sub6,
Bundle the 3.7GHz band and 4.5GHz band,
A maximum of 4.2 Gbps was achieved during reception.
Compatible models are

In addition to Xperia 5 II SO-52A
Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G SC-53A (scheduled for December),
Wi-Fi STATION SH-52A (scheduled to be supported after this winter).

Qualcomm and NTT DOCOMO Enable World’s First Commercialization of 5G Sub-6 GHz Carrier Aggregation in Japan

Using DOCOMO’s new 5G network and select devices powered by the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 865 Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System,

customers

can now enjoy mobile download speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps – the fastest speeds available in Japan.

This level of service is achieved through 5G sub-6 GHz carrier aggregation,

which combines a 100 MHz carrier in band n78 and a 100 MHz carrier in band n79 to boost 5G performance and network capacity using DOCOMO’s diverse spectrum assets.

The deployment of 5G Sub6-CA, along with 5G mmWave 28 GHz band that

DOCOMO began operating commercially in September, will unleash the full potential of 5G and enable accelerated deployment of DOCOMO’s 5G service areas.
