Germany 5G: Bosch, factory limited 5G first introduction: 5G Campusnetz

Bosch:

On November 26, the company announced that its first 5G “5G Campus netz” will be operational at its plant in Feuerbach.

Aim to realize Industry 4.0 by utilizing the high-speed communication environment.

5G Campusnetz:

The 5G Campusnetz network is the so-called local 5G that geographically limits the range of use of 5G.

Feuerbach Factory:

With the introduction of the campus network, the communication speed will be improved up to 20 times compared to 4G.

Utilizing the high-speed communication environment, it is used for machines to exchange data directly and instantly.

The automatic transfer robot “Active Shuttle” will also be introduced at the plant.

90 companies / organizations apply:

The frequency band of the campus network ranges from 3.7 GHz to 3.8 GHz (see article on June 24, 2019).

Applications have been available since November 2019.

As of November 13, 2020, 93 companies / institutions have applied, of which 88 companies / institutions have been assigned.
