iPS cell therapy:Recovered motor function in spinal cord injured mouse, iPS – Keio University succeeded
Concerning spinal cord injury in chronic phase, we could not obtain treatment effect by cell transplant alone so far.
The research group of Keio University School of Medicine physiology school etc. succeeded in restoring and maintaining motor function only by transplanting neural stem / progenitor cells established from human iPS cells.
The results of this research were published on the online version of “Stem Cell Reports”, the official journal of the International Stem Cell Society (ISSCR) on November 29, 2018 (Eastern Time).
