The average life expectancy of shrinking Americans, drug dependence also contributes
According to the data released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on 29th, the average life expectancy of last year was 78.6 years, about 1.2 months shorter than the previous year.
The increase in suicide was the highest level in nearly 10 years.
Deaths due to powerful opioid analgesics such as fentanyl are also increasing.
Influenza, pneumonia, diabetes mellitus also contributed to the increase in death last year.
