US Bans Lithium-Ion Batteries in Cargo of Passenger Flights

The United States has officially banned lithium-ion batteries from being transported in the cargo holds of passenger planes.

If you travel with camera gear, you’ll need to bring all your lithium-ion batteries into the cabin in a carry-on bag.

The major new rule was announced by U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao and the FAA “to strengthen safety provisions.”
