🏭AIST: Development of catalyst synthesizing ammonia at low temperature and low pressure

– Started demonstration test as the first step in realizing hydrogen energy carrier –

  1. Developed catalyst that can synthesize ammonia at lower temperature and lower pressure than conventional method
  2. Successful synthesis of liquid ammonia with demonstration test equipment filled with new catalyst
  3. We expect to contribute to full-scale utilization of hydrogen energy by storing large amounts of hydrogen derived from renewable energy

AIST is developing a new process that can respond to time-varying production volume, which is characteristic of reenergized hydrogen, through collaborative research with JGC Corporation. We have worked on real company and design, construction and operation of certification test equipment.
