Water Quality: “Odor Control Experiment” of Kobe City, Reservoir Succeeded – microorganisms

In recent years, phytoplankton (Anabena) is proliferating due to water pollution and global warming.

For this reason, the occurrence of mold smell (odor) is becoming a problem all over the world.

In Kobe City, we are taking countermeasures against mold odor, which is a problem in reservoirs of tap water sources.

Utilizing the power of environmentally friendly microorganisms

Study on a method to suppress phytoplankton “Anabena (origin of mold smell)”

This time, we succeeded in demonstration experiment on “suppression of growth of Anabena using aquatic plants” becoming the first in the world

In addition, we succeeded in creating “sterile anabaena” for the first time in the world.

“Anabena in aseptic state” is used for various research purposes.

In the future, we plan to assign it to the microbial strain storage facility of the country and make it available for world researchers.
