Showa Denko will acquire a second factory site * adjacent to Shanghai Showa Electronics Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. (“SSE”) to strengthen its high-purity gas business for electronic materials.
High-purity N2O (nitrous oxide) production equipment,
High-purity C4F8 (octafluorocyclobutane) production equipment,
High pressure gas dangerous goods warehouse,
Decided to build.
Operation of the second plant is scheduled for the second half of 2021.
Manufacturing Equipment: Product Applications
High-purity N2O: Mainly used as an oxygen source for oxide films in semiconductor and display manufacturing.
High-purity C4F8: A special gas mainly used for fine processing (etching) of oxide films.
Future outlook:
Expansion is expected due to the development of the 5G information and communications field and the industrial development policy of the Chinese government.
In China, the semiconductor and display markets (such as OLED TVs) are promising.
