Hitachi AMS: High accuracy detection of road surface shape with stereo camera – in-vehicle software

Hitachi AMS, in collaboration with Hitachi, Automotive Products Research Laboratory, has developed a highly accurate detection application of road surface shape.

Hitachi Automotive Systems’ stereo camera:

This stereo camera has the feature that it can capture parallax at all times with high accuracy.

By analyzing and combining image information, you can distinguish “unevenness of road surface and dirt and shadow” with short processing time.

Moreover, it can “Detect fine road surface shape with high accuracy”.

In the future, by linking this technology and suspension, we plan to develop a running control system that can control the stability of running according to the shape of the road surface.
