Animal welfare: Hokkaido ranch, cataract bear “Novita” surgery -restoration of sight in 10 years

The Asiatic black bear kept at a bear ranch in Noboribetsu city in Hokkaido has recovered his sight for the first time in 10 years after cataract surgery.

According to the veterinarian who executed it, the success of bear cataract surgery has never been reported so far in the world.
