Sagawa Kyubin: Adopted Ni Hydrogen Battery in Air Container Container – Suppresses Waste (Approximately 23 t)

SG Holdings / Sagawa Kyubin:

Changing the power scheme of air-cooled containers installed in aircraft

We will adopt Ni hydrogen battery pack from March 2019.

The use of Ni-MH battery packs for air-cooled containers is the first air freight forwarder.

Traditionally, air-cooled containers used manganese dry batteries for the power of cooling fans to maintain refrigerating capacity.

As a result, it was necessary to dispose of them after use, making it difficult to effectively utilize resources.

By using rechargeable battery pack for power, waste generation can be suppressed.

Reduce the battery usage by 170 thousand (about 23 t) annually.

Up to now,  exchanging multiple batteries.

In the future, work efficiency is improved by replacing one rechargeable battery pack.
