Idemitsu Showa Shell: New equipment for all solid LiB: Solid electrolyte, commercial production

Idemitsu Showa Shell:

Accelerate the commercialization of all-solid lithium-ion batteries, which are promising next-generation batteries.

Idemitsu Kosan has built a demonstration facility for “solid electrolyte of all solid LiB / commercial production”.

It will be newly established within Chiba Works, one of our main business sites.

All solid LiB:

All-solid-state LiB is required to be quickly commercialized for use in electric vehicles and stationary batteries.

Therefore, the need for solid electrolytes, which are key materials, is increasing.

Completion and start of operation of this facility are scheduled for the first quarter of FY2021.
