Hitachi Plant: Inspection of satellite lens under atmospheric pressure – Japan’s first facility trial production

Compared with the conventional vacuum chamber, the inspection period is reduced by 40%, the operation cost is reduced by 60%, and the efficiency of artificial satellite development and production is improved

Hitachi Plant Service:

We have developed environmental equipment that can inspect optical systems such as high precision / large telescope mounted on artificial satellite, camera lens and related equipment under atmospheric pressure.

In this development, the technology established through collaborative research with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is utilized.

With precise air conditioning control, “It is possible to conduct inspection with temperature, humidity, airflow fluctuation suppressed as much as possible”, it is possible to obtain the same result as in the vacuum environment test.

By using this facility, compared to the inspection using the conventional vacuum chamber,

No vacuum evacuation and atmospheric pressure return steps are required before and after inspection

Reduce inspection period by 40%

You can reduce operating costs by 60%.

Compared to vacuum chambers, it is easy to enlarge, realizing improvement in the efficiency of development and production of artificial satellites.
